History of the Hermes' Olde English Bulldogges
bulldogs of days gone by. These dogs almost became extinct back in the early 1900's.
But actually they were alive and well in the backwoods of America.
The Hermes family had been raising these dogs privately for 3 generations,
selectively breeding for large size, excellent health, and a
unique temperament combining hunting drive, intelligence, protection and playful friendliness.
Hermes Olde English Bulldogges can withstand temperatures up to 90 degrees, and down to 50 degrees below zero. They have the rugged health of working dogs. They are not prone to hip dysplasia or birthing difficulties. Their speed, power and agility are overwhelming, along with being "First to befriend and foremost to defend..."
Hermes Olde English Bulldogges are of the standard of the true English Bulldogge. They have been known to top out weights of 145 lbs, with a head of 30 inches and more.
Our line of bred dogs are from the Hermes' line.....
There are a few differances between an Olde English Bulldogge and English Bulldogs...
The English Bulldogs appear to have more problems with breathing, hips and they do not breed or whelp naturally...They can not be left outside for any length of time without suffering from hot or cold weather problems arising with their breathing problems..They have been known to die when left outside in 71 degree weather... they are strictly an inside dog...
The Olde English Bulldogges can be kept inside or out...They do not have the breathing problems as the English Bull...Olde English should be natural breeders and whelpers..They also do not have the hip problems associated with the English Bulls..
They are great dogs that love to please...
Our dogs get along very well with children....
They are friendly but protective of their family...Today when crime is hitting closer and closer to our homes and families; You couldn't ask for a better investment for personal protection....Just the size of our beautiful dogs is a bit scarey...But all of our dogs are raised inside and outside with children playing with them.....
Being from the Hermes' line...they are thick-boned dogs and can reach weights between 90-120 or possibly more...Powerful should be a word that would come to mind when speaking of our Olde English....But also...Loveable family members...

We are not trying to simply breed our dogs...We are truely trying to save this beautiful and rare breed...While other kennels may breed 15-20 dogs...We simply breed our female and male...It took years of research before we found the exact female that would meet OUR standard of Olde English Bulldogges....She is the Best of the Best ...And she will produce the Best of the Best...And mated up to Zeus...Their puppies will be the greatest puppies ....Zeus is also from Hermes' line...Although he is only a year old...he still has two more years of growing before he gets to his peak growth...He is strong and powerful already...And his aim is to please us....Extremely active and becoming aware that we are now his family...He is starting to protect our domain by making us aware of strangers around....But loving and very playful when the kids are over....Their temperment is outstanding for such large dogs......
